NOTE: Jeremiah was called Jerry Gulledge. Oral history says he married a Cherokee Indian in South Carolina. She is said to have been an Indian princess. Not able to confirm this, other than the oral history, I believe that Jeremiah's relatives told their children and others that she was an Indian princess so that she would be more respected and accepted in the family and not referred to as a squaw. This way she was referred to as an Indian princess when family history and stories were passed down to the next generations. Of course this is just my theory.
