NOTE: John Hampton Gulledge and his wife Leila moved to Georgia in 1917.John was the first person to run a peanut sheller in Statesboro, Bullock Co., Georgia. They eventually owned a farm in Ridgeway, SC. They had cows , chickens, and an old gray mule. John also ran a sawmill and grain mill (ground corn for cornmeal) on his farm.
