I have been researching my family for over 36 years a lot of my research has been received from senior members of the families that have now passed on. I consider this information one of the best and enjoyable resources as they contain personal stories and memories and documentation. I heard a lot of oral history some of which was not accurate. I had to sift through the information and make some educated guesses. I always tried to be as accurate and factual as possible. It has taken many years and trips to remote and lost cemeteries, old homesteads, court houses, and dead ends, looking over hundreds of documents and military records and talking with many people. I consider it all worth the work and effort and thank all who assisted and supported me especially my wife Joyce. I have drug her from county to county, state to state, cemetery to cemetery, person to person and she did most of the documentation. We have gotten lost, got found and got lost again and walked many a mile. My thanks to all of you as my work continues. |
